Make A Meal Plan

If you plan your meals on a weekly or fortnightly basis, you’ll save money by only the food you need for the next few days meals or by buying some ingredients in bulk (those that have a long shelf life) firstly because you won’t be buying unnecessary food and secondly because you’ll throw less stuff away because you haven’t used it before it went bad.

And if you plan well, your meals will hopefully end up being more nutritious and even contain less calories.  So you’ll not only save money, you’ll be more healthy and lose weight too.

Learn to love leftovers.

It’s hard to understand people who throw away leftovers. Why not cook more on purpose and then the leftovers from your evening meal make a great lunch for the next day (and saves you paying for lunch). Things like rice are a bit more problematic; though rice left from dinner makes great rice pudding for the next day.
Pull the plug.

How many of your electrical appliances are on standby? The answer is probably many. It’s estimated you can save up to £50 or $50 per year by simply unplugging devices when you’re not using them.
